St. Louis, Missouri, Gateway City, home to The Gateway Arch, also known as the Gateway to the West, is seen as the Eastern/Western US dividing mark. St. Louis is such a splendid place to visit with so much to see and do that one cannot begin to tackle it all in one visit. On our visit to St. Louis we will have a guided tour of the city including a visit to Anheiser Busch, the Missouri Botanical Gardens, and time to shop and eat on your own at Union Station plus much more. You will have plenty of time to explore your own personal interests whether they be the Gateway Arch, Museums, Gateway International Raceway , or Play Scott Joplin’s ragtime tunes at the composer’s historic home. With Route 66 running thru St. Louis you will not want to miss the chance to visit the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. The Old Chain of Rocks Bridge spans one of the most scenic areas of the Mississippi River and became a part of Route 66 from 1936 until 1968. Today autos no longer cross the Chain of Rocks Bridge, it is a pedestrian and bike bridge now complete with Route 66 historical displays. While traveling from St. Louis to Springfield we can travel along the route of the famous Route 66 and uncover the legend of U.S. Route 66 and discover the real America. On Illinois Route 66 you'll actually travel through the hometown neighborhoods, not around them. Our second location is something to remember as well. Springfield, Illinois is celebrating one of our great U.S. Presidents, Abraham Lincoln. In keeping with celebrating Abraham Lincoln’s Bicentennial, we will have a great guided tour of some of Lincoln’s lifestyle before he was to become President of the United States including Lincoln’s Home, Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices and even Lincoln’s Tomb. Springfield sits in the heart of Illinois’ U.S. Route 66 and boasts some of America’s favorite Route 66 icons. Mile for mile…you’ll find more authentic Route 66 sites and attractions along the road in Illinois…from Chicago to St. Louis…than in any other Route 66 state. Don’t wait to sign up for this trip. Following the International Rally it is expected to sell fast.
